According to FMDQ data, where forex is officially traded, the naira closed yesterday at N419.50 to the dollar.
According to Premium Times, this represents a N1.02 or 0.24 percent increase from the N420.25 it exchanged hands with the greenback currency in the previous session on Monday.
On the black market, the naira, which reached N600 and above a fortnight ago, gained significantly across the country.
On Tuesday, the naira was exchanged at N595.00 and sold at N598.00 to a dollar in the Uyo black market, compared to N603.00 and N605.
In addition, currency dealers in Abuja’s street market reported that the naira was exchanged at N595.00 and sold at N597.00 per $1 on Tuesday.
Forex supply fell by 19.82 percent to $98.52 million at the close of business on Tuesday, compared to $122.91 million in the previous session on Monday.
