Joint security forces have arrested 20 suspects believed to be affiliated with the secessionist group known as Oodua Nation Agitators, in connection with the invasion of state government premises in Agodi, Ibadan, Oyo State on Saturday.

The arrested individuals, who were dressed in military style camouflage clothing, arrived heavily armed in an unregistered silver colored Nissan van.

Items found inside the van included machetes, pump action shotguns, ammunition, charms and other talismans, and a flag associated with the Oodua Nation secessionist movement.

The assailants arrived at the location in multiple vehicles. They attempted to forcibly enter the Governor’s Office during the siege, but vigilant security forces were able to thwart this plan of action. The suspects wore masks and scarves to conceal their identities, and displayed a flag suspected of being associated with the secessionist agitators. The armed invasion occurred early Saturday morning.
