Three members of a robbery syndicate allegedly terrorizing Ewekoro and its environs were arrested by police officers attached to Ogun police command on Monday, March 14.

The suspects were identified as Ahmed Isiaka, Sunday Ajibola, and Jimoh Wahab after the police received a distress call about a 4-man robbery gang that invaded Apomu Community in Ewekoro Local Government Area, dispossessing residents of their belongings.

The DPO of Ewekoro division, CSP Jacob Olayemi, quickly mobilized his patrol team to the scene. On sighting the policemen, Oyeyemi said the hoodlums fled, but they were chased and three of them were arrested with the assistance of residents.

Items recovered from them include one locally fabricated double-barrelled pistol, five live cartridges, one expended cartridge, one Bajaj motorbike (with registration number TTN 975 VU), one TVS bike (with registration number JBD 353 W), and some criminal charms.

Ogun State police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, added that the Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, has directed that the suspects be transferred to the State CIID for discreet investigation.
