Soldier Detained For Criticizing COAS Tukur Buratai Granted Bail After 7 Months

Martins Idakpini, the lance corporal who was captured and confined for condemning head of armed force staff Tukur Buratai, has been allowed bail following 7 months in detainment.

The warrior was captured and confined in Abuja after a video which was made in June 2020 turned into a web sensation. In the video, he blamed Buratai for inadequately dealing with the battle against revolt.

Idakpini’s lawyer, Tope Akinyode said a court military sitting in Sokoto requested his delivery on bail.  Akinyode said in an assertion gave on Thursday, January 14.  Read underneath…

“Court military awards bail to Lance Corporal Martins Idakpini. The court sitting in Sokoto made the request today after I contended the bail application.

“Idakpini was captured for reprimanding armed force specialists. He’s been kept for a very long time without admittance to his family.”
