Singer Asake Mourns Nigerian Lady Who Died From Injuries She Sustained During The Stampede At His London Concert Last Thursday

Ahmed Ololade, a Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter known professionally as Asake, has extended his condolences to the family of one of the injured fans at his concert who has now been reported dead.

On Thursday 15th of December, four people got injured in a crowd stampede at the entrance of a concert in 02 Academy Brixton by the musician.

The deceased lady – Rebecca Ikumelo, a 33-year-old mother of two – is a famous Tik-Toker who is popular for sharing videos of how she took care of her autistic son.

The “Terminator” singer in a statement on his Instagram page, expressed his condolences to Rebecca’s family.

He further appealed to anyone with relevant information about what led to the incident to reach out to law enforcement agencies.

Asake wrote: “l am devastated by the news that Rebecca Ikumelo who was in a critical condition since Thursday has sadly passed away. My sincerest condolences to her loved ones at this time.

“Let us please keep her family in our prayers. I have spoken to them and will continue to do so.

“I am overwhelmed with grief and could never have imagined anything like this happening. My team and I are still awaiting the full debrief back from the Venue management and the Police to determine what exactly led to all the disruption caused and ultimately to Rebecca’s passing.

“If you have any relevant information relating to this please do reach out to the Metropolitan Police.”

According to the metropolitan police, two other females aged 21 and 23 are still in critical condition.
