The Senator corresponding Lagos East Senatorial District, Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo, has urged Muslims to seize the spiritual advantage of the Ramadan period to pray for the country to overcome the nemesis of the Coronavirus pandemic.
According to him, Ramadan is a period of spiritual reawakening and rebirth.
“even so, while we revel in the euphoria of the commencement of another Ramadan, I want to urge us to seize the opportunity of this spiritual rebirth to pray for the country and the world at large to overcome the Coronavirus pandemic. While the government at all levels are doing everything at their disposal to contain and curtail the spread of the virus, the Ramadan period has provided us with the opportunity to increase supplication to Allah to assist us in this fight,” he said.
Senator Osinowo urged Nigerians not to relent in keeping and staying safe.
“We should not relent in washing and sanitizing our hands regularly, we should continue to maintain the social distance, avoid gatherings of many people as well as maintaining all other health measures put in place by health officials to combat the scourge,” the Chairman of the Senate Committee of Industries said.
