Ogun Publishes Free Ambulance Hotline and 48-Hour Treatment Support
Ogun State has asked residents to save a dedicated emergency ambulance number, 08112000033, for road crashes and other urgent medical situations.
The state said its ambulance service is free and that accident victims transported through the service may receive free treatment for the first 48 hours at designated government health facilities.
Officials explained that Nigeria’s national emergency number, 112, remains valid, but a call may need to be assessed and transferred before reaching the appropriate state response team. Calling the Ogun ambulance line directly may reduce delays when the caller can provide an accurate location.
The public advisory followed renewed discussion about emergency response times on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. Separate reporting about a recent crash included disputed accounts of how quickly responders arrived. MBTV has therefore limited this report to the hotline and treatment policy that the state itself publicised.
In an emergency, callers should give the exact road, nearby landmark, direction of travel, number of injured people and a working callback number. If the dedicated line does not connect, callers should also try 112 and contact the police or Federal Road Safety Corps.
