Former Nigerian Minister Is Dead
GIOTV reports that the former Information Minister, General Anthony Ukpo, has passed away.
Ukpo, a former Military Administrator of Rivers State, was pronounced dead in the early hours of Monday.The demise of the former minister was disclosed by Leonard Anyogu, a constitutional lawyer and the secretary of the Ogoja State Creation Committee which was chaired by Ukpo.
Anyogu disclosed that the former Military Administrator died on Monday morning in a hospital.The lawyer further disclosed that Ukpo died as a result of lingering sickness, saying, “I can confirm that the former Milad died this morning. He died in a hospital this morning.
“It is very sad. Cross River State has lost an asset,” he stated.
GIOTV reports that General Anthony Ukpo was the Minister of Information during General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida’s regime and later Military Administrator of Rivers State.
