In an exclusive interview, popular UK based Nigerian blogger and GIOTV host Maureen Badejo has spoken to Ruth Matthew whose two-year-old son got missing in Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyen’s Church in Warri Delta state.
34-year-old Ruth Mathew who is from Benin city Edo state is physically challenged and handicapped from the waist down.
Ruth also have four children, all boys and it is no more a news that the youngest son who was 2 years and 5 months old disappeared in to the air in Jeremiah Omoto’s church.
Below is excerpts from the interview:
Q: How did your son got missing?
A: I went to Mercy City Church in Delta State to seek prophet Jeremiah Omoto for help regarding my situation. I had a problem whereby I loses money all the time, that my money just literally disappears from my bag. so in search of a solution to my problem, I had seen Jeremiah Omoto’s deliverance and healing ministry channel and believed that all of the prophecies and healings were real.
I believed like many people that he might be able to pray for me and deliver me from my troubles just as I saw him do for others in his staged “miracles”.
After arriving at Omoto’s church service, when Omoto saw me and my child he was very excited and he asked me if the children were mine.I responded, “Yes, GOD gave me these kids.” He told me that I can’t have four children judging from the fact that I’m crippled. Omoto was strangely interested in the youngest child who is 2 years and 5 months old. Jeremiah then asked his youth chairman to write my name down.
Furthermore, Jeremiah kept showing interest in the child. He said to me, pointing at my son, that my youngest child has power that surpasses his power. That the child is very special and has a power of a prophet that is extraordinary.
Later that evening around 7pm I couldn’t find my son while still in Jeremiah’s church, the same child He expressed interest in. I was desperately crying calling my child and asking Jeremiah and his people to help her find my child but I couldn’t move fast enough being that I’m crippled and can’t walk. Then, Jeremiah, ask his security to kick me out saying that I was trying to ruin his ministry. He claimed that the child got lost because I had sent him to buy something outside.
I now went to police station the Police and the DPO told me that there have been other cases like mine reported before. But then the following day I came back to the Police station and they changed the narrative and said that I was the suspect in the child’s disappearance! They are blaming me.
Q: Why did you relocate to Abuja?
A: I relocated because my husband relative wants to take away the children from my custody.
Q: How do you survive?
A: I am into business ma.
