#EndSARS: Court Stops Prosecution Of Davido, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, Others

A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory has halted the indictment of Pastor Sam Adeyemi of Daystar Christian Center, Burna Boy, Davido, Falz, lobbyist Deji Adeyanju, and others over the #EndSARS fight.

The High Court requested a Magistrate court to quickly stop procedures and stay activity against 50 people who upheld the #EndSARS fights, following a criminal grievance documented by legal advisor Kenechukwu Okeke.

Okeke in his suit claimed that during the riot,  properties were decimated and the respondents who advanced the #EndSARS fights should be considered liable for it and also brought to equity.

Equity Bello Kawu who conveyed a judgment on the application recorded by Activist Deji Adeyanju (one of the litigants) for a judicial audit of the considerable issue before the justice, said;

“A request for this good court conceding leave to the application to issue and serve on the litigant an application for legal survey against the procedures/direct criminal grievance of Hon. Omolola Tolulope Akindele sitting at Chief Magistrate Court II, Wuse Zone 6 in the suit of Kenechukwu Okeke Vs Deji Adeyanju and 49 others in suit No. CR/49/2020.

“A request for this noteworthy court, that on the award of the above requests thus, fill in as stay of all procedures on the immediate criminal objection Omolola Tolulope Akindele sitting at Chief Magistrate Court II, Wuse Zone 6 in the suit of Kenechukwu Okeke Vs Deji Adeyanju and 49 others in suit no. CR/49/2020.

“A request for this respectable court, that on the award of the above requests thus, same request as conceded by the decent court will limit the Nigeria Police Force, second and third respondents from making any further strides, capturing or potentially taking any unlawful/illicit strides as any appearance as it concerns the topics at all under the steady gaze of this court in this as it concerns all gatherings in the procedures.”
