Buhari to appoint Justice Ariwoola as Chief Justice of Nigeria.

Following Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad’s resignation due to health issues, President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to appoint Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as the new Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) on Monday, June 27.

Justice Ariwoola is currently the Supreme Court’s most senior justice.

According to presidential sources, he is expected to be sworn in today at 2 p.m.

Justice Ariwoola, who was born on August 22, 1958, was previously a Justice of the Court of Appeal before being elevated to the Supreme Court bench.
