Popular music maestro, Ms Onyeka Onwenu is dead.

She was said to have died at the Reddington Hospital in Lagos after slumping at the birthday party of Mrs. Stella Okoli.
An eyewitness who was at the party who confirmed the sad news.
“It is very sad. Onyeka Onwenu just performed at the birthday of Mrs. Stella Okoli today, and after performing, she slumped. She was taken to Reddington Hospital and she couldn’t make it.”
Onyeka Onwenu is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, actress, journalist and politician.
– Birth details: Onwenu was born on 17th May 1952, in Arondizuogu, Imo State, Nigeria, to D.K Onwenu, a renowned educationist and politician. She lost her father in a car accident at a very young age, and her mother had to raise her and her four siblings alone.
– Education: Onwenu attended Wellesley College of Massachusetts, USA, and The New School for Social Research in New York, where she obtained a BA in International Relations and Communication and a master’s degree in Media Studies, respectively.

She started her career as a journalist working at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) before moving on to music and acting. She has released several successful music albums and has featured in numerous Nollywood films.
