Rapper Takeoff has been shot dead outside a club in Houston, reportedly over a game of dice.

Takeoff, 28, who is best known as a member of the hip-hop trio Migos, was shot while a group gathered outside a bowling alley called 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston on Tuesday morning.

A picture from the scene reportedly shows Takeoff lying dead on the floor with a puddle of blood next to his head, hours after he posted an Instagram story of him wearing the same outfit whilst smoking.

Takeoff, real name Kirshnik Khari Ball, had joined his uncle and fellow Migos rapper Quavo for a game of dice before the shooting, witnesses and law enforcement sources told TMZ.com.

A fight broke out during the dice game and a person opened fire, shooting Takeoff in the process. Video from the scene shows Takeoff lying dead on the floor, while Quavo – wearing an orange top – rushes to his side and yells for someone to help.

Takeoff was the youngest member of the American rap group Migos, which he founded in 2008 with his uncle Quavo and cousin Offset, who is married to Cardi B.

Houston Police did not name the rapper as the victim in the shooting, but they confirmed one person had died in a shooting at 1200 Polk in downtown Houston.

Police said that the victim had been found dead on arrival. Sources told TMZ that two other people were shot and were taken to the hospital – it is unclear what their conditions are.

Earlier this month, Takeoff and Quavo joined forces in their debut as a duo with their album ‘Only Built for Infinity Links.

While there have been whisperings of the Atlanta rap trio Migos splitting up for good, there has been no official announcement of their disbandment, Dailymail further reports.
