President Muhammadu Buhari’s special assistant on social media, Lauretta Onochie, has come under heavy criticism after a tweet made about Okonjo Iweala in 2012 resurfaced online.

In April 2012, a Nigerian journalist and social media influencer Omujuwa tweeted about Africa having one full democracy according to Economist Intelligent unit, Mauritius.

Responding to the tweet, Lauretta Onochie slammed Okonjo Iweala, saying she is desperate about getting a position in the world bank, claiming it’s a means for her to escape from Nigerians.

Eating her own words in 2021, photos that emerged on social media after the visit of Okonjo Iweala to Nigeria for the first time since her appointment as the world trade organization director captured Lauretta Onochie struggling to take a photo with Okonjo Iweala.

The tweet reads:

Omojuwa wrote: Africa has only one full democracy according to Economist Intelligent Unit and that’s Mauritus.

Lauretta Onochie replied: I feel sorry for Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. She desperately need this world bank position to escape from Nigerians.

At the appropriate time, your enemies will struggle to take pictures with you in Jesus name.

This generated several reactions on social media.

hrmking_zino: Lauretta has no shame, take her words serious at your own peril.

i.am.differenttt: I swear…..I can relate! They will struggle. See how Ngosi got there, when preparedness meets opportunity with sprinkling grace. Them no born naysayers papa well 😂they must bow!

teeto_olayeni: Madam Lauretta Onochie, shame on you if you still have any atom of shame left.
