Nigerian singer cum pastor, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W has opened up on why he decided to delve into politics despite being a pastor.

During a recent interview with BBC, he disclosed that he combined being a politician and a pastor because he wanted people to see that good people with the right intentions can serve the people and become part of the government.

Reacting to the death of popular Afrobeat star, Ilerioluwa Promise Aloba known as Mohbad, Banky W said the authorities need to do proper investigations so as to unearth the real cause of the singer’s death.

The music producer while reacting to the recent judgment of the National Assembly petitions tribunal that called for a supplementary election for the seat of House of Representatives in Eti Osa local government area, said he believes that it is possible for him to still win the position.

Recall the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) declared Labour Party candidate Thaddeus Attah winner of the seat in the 2023 general elections that occurred earlier in the year.

Banky W came second in the polls as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate.
