Former Vice-President of Nigeria Atiku Abubakar has addressed the issue of rotational Presidency, stating that Nigerians do not care where the next person who rules the nation comes from.

Atiku said Nigerians are not bothered where their next President will come from but want a leader that would address the challenges confronting the country.

The former Vice President spoke at the 94th National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting of PDP in Abuja on Thursday.

Atiku also pointed out that the decisions taken during the meeting would decide if the party produces Nigeria’s next president.

He said: “PDP has the right to determine how the party should be run and Nigerians have the right to determine how the country should be governed. The problem of Nigerians has never been where the President comes from.

“There is no such thing as a president from southern Nigeria or a president from northern Nigeria. There is only one — a president from Nigeria, for Nigeria and by Nigerians.

“Talking about inclusion, I would like to see a new national working committee of our party that has sizeable numbers of youths and women.

“The decision of NEC today will either see us PDP in the villa in 2023 or not. Since the inception, this party has faced serious challenges and has risen above sentiment to solve those challenges and move forward.”
