Suspected Fulani herdsmen has allegedly attacked Professor Wole Soyinka in his Abeokuta, Ogun State home.
In the video shared in the early hours of today it was stated that the herdsmen broke into the home of the playwright and Nobel prize winner at midnight to attack him.
Their mission was aborted as they were apprehended by the Ogun State Police command where they are now in custody and investigations has commenced.
The attack on the octogenarian is coming at a time when he has been very vocal in asking the Muhammadu Buhari’s led government to curtail the activities of these herdsmen which he said are responsible for the deaths of so many in the south west.
Professor Wole Soyinka had also warned that a civil war could break out from the conflict between herders and local communities across the country if the issue is not addressed correctly.
