Van Trying To Evade Amotekun Arrest Crushes Boy To Death In Ondo

A 10-year-old boy has been crushed to death by a van trying to escape arrest by operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, otherwise known as Amotekun Corps.

The incident happened at Ayeyemi area of Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area of the State.

The van loaded with planks was said to have crushed the boy, identified as Olaniyi Ayomide, while on his way home around 8:30 pm alongside his parents after closing from their shop.

An eyewitness, who identified himself as Dele said the deceased and his parents were unaware that the driver of the van which was on high speed was approaching.

Dele, added that the driver who was on top speed was trying to dodge some law enforcement agents who had warned him against conveying planks in the night.

“The man tried to evade arrest by Amotekun men and in the process, he knocked down the boy and crushed him to death,

“I sighted the van, but before I could call their attention to it, it was too late as the van was already close to them.

The remains of the boy was evacuated by the patrol team of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), while the van driver was arrested by Amotekun Corps he was running away from.
