The management of the University of Calabar has threatened to publish the names of its graduates that have refused to collect their certificates years after graduation.
This was made known by the Registrar of the institution, Mr. Gabriel Egbe in a memo.
The university said it is shocked over the development, revealing that over 42,000 certificates are yet to claimed, some dating back to the 1980s.
The memo titled “Unclaimed Certificates” read:-
“It has been discovered that there are over forty two thousand(42,000) unclaimed certificates of the University of Calabar in Faculties and Institutes. Some of these certificates dates back to the 1980s. The University Management is shocked by this abnormality, and therefore, directs that all who have not collected their Certificates after several years of graduation should do so immediately.
“Persons who are acquainted with these group of graduands, should please inform them to come for collection. Those who do not so before the end of three months from the date of this notice, will have their names published and will be surcharged subsequently”. The memo read.
