UK based blogger and host of GIOTV show Maureen Badejo has revealed why UK Charity Commission has opened a STATUTORY INQUIRY for The Redeemed Christian Church Of God, RCCG, CROYDON TABERNACLE.
Maureen said;
“This is how I started the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries’ MFM, case until their General Overseer D.K Olukoya could not take correction. I hope RCCG trustees will not do the same”.
The names of the trustees are:
1. Abiola Olufeyimi (Chair)
2. Chuka Nwafor (Secretary)
3. Catherine Runsewe.
In March 2018, UK Charity Commission opened a statutory inquiry to examine the charity’s financial
information due to serious regulatory concern, The previous Board {which resigned in January2019),
took the decision to appoint the chartered accounting of Sayers Vincent LLP to carry out a forensic examination of the financial affairs of the charity, %tellersI LP was also appointed to advised
on the legal matters involving unauthorised withdrawals of funds from the charity.
In order to address the findings in the report, the new Trustees have reviewed the systems and
processes in place before the inquiry. Improved financial controls have now been put in place, with more transparency and accountability. A new finance committee has been setup, with the remit of
overseeing financial processes and controls of the charity.
The romance committee reports to the
board of trustees. Going forward from 2019,Trustees expectation is that the charity’s accounts will react strict adherence to there commendations in Sayer Vincent’s report.
In between all of these developments, the trustees are working with members of the church in rather challenging circumstances to ensure that the charity is able to continue with its soul winning
objective and impacting positively on the lives of it’s members and its local community.
The financial statements included with this Annual report has been adjusted to reflect some of the
findings in the report prepared by Sayer Vincent, LLP. The charity has been in continuous discussions with the charity Commission regarding the ongoing investigation, and have put in place more robust
financial controls and processes.
The freeze placed by the charity Commission on one of the charity’s bank accourithas now been lifted. On conclusion of it’s inquiry, the charity Commission will
issue a report on its findings,
Consequently, the above events and developments have led to the delay in the preparation,
examination, sign off and filing of the annual report for the year ended,
31″ December 2018 as required.
Maureen Badejo said the above trustees are to face the panel this has nothing to do with RCCG General Overseer Pastor E. A Adeboye because is not part of the trustees.
