In Anambra State, a structure has collapsed, creating a major uproar.
The two-story building that fell on Friday in Oraifite, in the Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, is now thought to have killed two people.
According to Giotv, the structure collapsed as repairs were being made to a second story that had a broken component.
A source stated that the incident happened on Friday in the Ibolo area of the community.
The source said, “Two persons lost their lives in a building collapse in Ibolo, Oraifite in the Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State. The deceased were working at the two-storey facility when the incident occurred at the early hours of Friday.
“The engineer in charge instructed the workers to remove the second floor which was not properly constructed. It was in the course of the removal that the building caved in.”
The state police spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, could not be reached for reaction as calls made to his mobile rang out.
