A Nigerian public affairs commentator and author, Reno Omokri, has made a new claim.

Reno Omokri

He claimed that the President-elect, Bola Tinubu started preparing for his 2023 presidential victory since 1998.

Omokri said Tinubu ensured that some of his allies are appointed to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Court of Appeal, among others.

He pointed out that Tinubu facilitated the emergence of Ahmed Lawan as Senate President and Femi Gbajabiamila as the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Tweeting, Omokri said Tinubu and Senator Godswill Akpabio both learned from the late MKO Abiola.

According to Omokri, the judiciary may treat Tinubu better than INEC.

He wrote: “Tinubu has been preparing for 2023 since 1998. He has a former Lagos Commissioner as a top shot at INEC. He has judges he appointed as Governor that are now in the Court of Appeals.

“He made Lawan Senate President and installed Gbajabiamila as Speaker. One-quarter of Buhari’s ministers are his appointees. He helped the owners of Oando and Alphabets become dollar billionaires.

“Tinubu and Godswill Akpabio both learnt from MKO Abiola very well.”

Omokri pointed out that the President-elect made a lot of journalists multimillionaires.
