Some suspected political suspected thugs have invaded the Ondo assembly complex.

They reportedly arrived the complex ahead of the arrival of Ogundeji Iroju (Odigbo constituency), Wale Williams (Ondo constituency I), Tomide Akinribido (Ondo constituency II), and Favour Tomomowo (Ilaje constituency II), lawmakers said to be loyalists of Agboola Ajayi, the deputy governor of the state.

It was alleged that the thugs converged to stop the lawmakers whose suspension were voided by a high court in Akure, from entering the building.

Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Iroju Ogundeji who is one of the suspended lawmakers accused Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the Speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun of masterminding the development.

He said;

“Idajo and his members from the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, came to the House to kill us on the order of the Governor and the Speaker. They said we should not enter the House to perform our constitutional legislative duties.

“Right now, we are helpless because they are using government power against us. We are only relying on God to come to our aide.”
