The Oluwo Of Iwo kingdom, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi has said that the major problem facing the Yorubas are their Kings.
The monarch made this known in an audio clip played by UK based activist, blogger and GIOTV Host, Maureen Badejo in her show. He also talked about the causes and solutions of clashes happening between Fulanis and Yorubas.
He said;
“Every Yoruba Oba has Fulanis in his domain and the kings should stop selling lands to “Bororos” because they are not Nigerians. We have lived in peace with this Fulanis for years but now there are infiltrations of terrorists, this is the more reason why I said they should stop selling lands to the foreigners who the Obas think are Fulanis”
Oba Rasheed further said to stop the killings and kidnappings in Yoruba land by this so called terrorists,
“As Yoruba Obas we must:
* Love ourselves
* Share information
* Stop selling lands to foreigners
*Secure our borders”.
“There is no Yoruba council of Obas in South West, even the state council of Obas are not united. Anytime I say they should have Yoruba council of Obas some Kings do curse me.
“Yoruba kings are the problem of the South West, Yorubas are the problem of themselves. Yoruba land will never know peace except the Obas get it right. The kingship in Yoruba land has been destroyed.
“The Solution to this problem is that our Government should call on the Fulanis and tell them not to rear cattles on the roads and sponsor some of them to acquire knowledge on cattle ranching” he added.
Maureen also used the opportunity appreciate those that have contributed towards Chief Sunday Igboho “GoFundMe” to purchase buses for his activities.
She said the amount contributed so far is £34,000 (₦17,850,000) and she encourage other viewers to support financially as well.
