Reno Omokri, an ex-aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan has sent a message to President Bola Tinubu following the uproar about his 120-car convoy.

Omokri urged Tinubu to cut wastage in the country and avoid such displays.

He also called on Tinubu to put an end to sponsorship of pilgrims to Mecca and Jerusalem.

Omokri in a tweet on his official Twitter handle also advised the president to stop funding medical trip for himself or any elected or appointed government officials as well as reduce the number of vehicles in his convoy.

Doing this, according to him will save Nigeria much money which can be put into better usage.

He however commended the decision of the Federal Government to stop direct funding of professional bodies and councils such as the National Examination Council(NECO) and the West African Examination Council (WAEC)
from 2026.

Popularly called #tableshaker, Omokri tweeted “President Tinubu has done well in ending Federal Government funding for professional bodies and councils. But that is not the most significant waste in government”.

“The President should also stop funding foreign healthcare for himself and any elected or appointed public official. He may also want to end Federal Government sponsorship of pilgrims to both Mecca and Jerusalem”.

“Both gestures would save the nation much more than the crumbs from the table that goes into professional bodies and councils. And also, we should lead by example by avoiding a 120 car convoy”.
