Serial Murder Suspect Shot Dead In Ogun

A notorious cultist/murder suspect Owolabi Oludipe a.k.a Somori was on Sunday 31st of January 2021 shot dead while he and his gang engaged police from the Odogbolu division in a gun battle.

Oludipe who had been on the wanted list of the Command was sighted at Ita-Ado area of Odogbolu where he and his fellow Aiye cult group were planning another attack in the Community. A distress call was made to the DPO Odogbolu division, who mobilized his men and moved to the scene.

A statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, states that on sighting the policemen, the gang engaged them in a shoot-out, after which their leader “Somori” was shot and injured while others escaped into the bush with their operational weapons. The suspect was quickly taken to hospital but died while receiving treatment.

”The deceased had been on the wanted list of the Command in connection with killings of one Runsewe Segun a civil defense official who was murdered in cold blood on the 14th of November 2020 and one Sunday Kayode Adegbuyi who was also killed on the 16th of February 2020. He was also responsible for the killing of a rival Eiye cult group leader by the name Shoyombo Sanyaolu Fakoya on the 11th of November 2020 during a supremacy battle between the two groups. He confessed to all the killings on the hospital bed before he gave up the ghost.  Recovered from him are assorted charms which he wore all over his body, two live cartridges, and a mobile phone.

It will be recalled that another notorious serial killer terrorizing ijebu ode and its environs had earlier been neutralized by operatives of the command early last month in a similar circumstance.” Oyeyemi said
