The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday, unveiled the Ikeja flyover bridge, which is part of the state’s Red Line Rail project.
Sanwo-Olu was joined by the Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; and the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; among others.
In a tweet on his official X handle on Tuesday, Sanwo-Olu wrote , “Today, we inaugurated the Ikeja Flyover, a key component of the Red Line Rail Project. This significant milestone take us a step closer to the inauguration of the entire Red Line Rail Project in Lagos.
“The Ikeja Flyover and its counterparts—Yaba and Oyingbo bridges—are pivotal to the Lagos Rail Mass Transit Red Line. These structures are crucial in ensuring the safety and convenience of Lagosians as we advance in our rail transit system.
“With the Ikeja Flyover’s inauguration, we’re witnessing the interconnection of critical pieces in our transit network. These bridges underscore our commitment to efficient and safe transportation for all in Lagos.”
Sanwo-Olu added that his administration was committed to building a modern and reliable rail transit system that enhances connectivity across the state.
