Public affairs commentator Ugo Egbujo have revealed that the annual Redeem Church of God convention is not another mischievous Oro festival.
Ugo said:
“I have seen people criticizing the RCCG because of their convention that started today.”
“However, the RCCG convention is an annual event that takes place every August during the first or second week. This year marks the 72nd convention.”
“You cannot expect RCCG to cancel an event that was scheduled last year just because of the protests. Some people will attend the convention to pray, while others will join the protests. The convention and the protests are not mutually exclusive.”
“Churches and mosques remain open despite the protests, and institutions, both public and private, continue to operate.
The RCCG convention is not another disruptive Oro festival; it’s a one-week event that has taken place during the first or second week of August for 71 consecutive years.” He added.
