President Bola Tinubu will be leaving India after the G20 summit, and heading to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE),  where he is scheduled to meet with President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his officials, in his bid to resolve the issues surrounding the suspension of issuance of visas to Nigerians, as well as the suspension of Emirates Airlines flights to Nigeria.

Emirates Airline had suspended flight operations to Nigeria in October 2022, over the country’s inability to repatriate trapped funds. The government of UAE also banned nationals of 20 African countries including Nigeria, from entering Dubai, its capital.

The Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Social Media, Segun Dada, via his X handle this afternoon, September 10, revealed that the President will be heading to the UAE to resolve the visa impasse.

President Tinubu who had on August 24 received the Letter of Credence of the Ambassador of UAE, Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi, at the presidential villa in Abuja, said he is ready to personally intervene in the diplomatic situation Nigeria has with the UAE.
