Prayers can end bad governance in Nigeria— Prophetess Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye reveals

The Founder of The New Seraph, Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye, has stated that prayers can help end bad governance in Nigeria.

 

Yomi-Sholoye made this assertion while criticising the current state of the country in a statement obtained by our correspondent on Wednesday.

According to her, resorting to violence will not resolve the myriad problems the country is facing.

At the church’s press conference for the sixth Night of Divine Experience in Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos, on Tuesday, the cleric urged citizens to continue praying fervently for their leaders and the country during these challenging times.

She also encouraged Nigerians to remain calm, support one another, and urged the government to make efforts to address the protesters’ demands.

“Prayer can end bad governance in Nigeria. God said, ‘Cast your burdens upon me’; He does not tire. Let us not give up on Him. That is why we need prayers; there is nothing that prayers cannot solve. God is the supreme king, and He is capable of doing anything. There is no leader He cannot pacify, control, dethrone, or remove unless He is not the Creator.

“Let us be patient. God has many ways of resolving issues, and He says, ‘My ears are not deaf, my eyes are not blind,’ and He will act at the right time. My advice is to be patient and hope for the best because we cannot afford to be refugees in other people’s countries if we create conflict.

“Mr President, I humbly appeal to you to address the pressing issues that have led to this moment: reduce the cost of living and address inflation, provide affordable fuel and electricity, create jobs and opportunities for the youth, ensure accountability and transparency in governance, and protect the rights of all citizens.”

Speaking about the church’s forthcoming NODE 6.0 with the theme ‘Good News,’ Yomi-Sholoye stressed that the five-day prayer gathering will be an opportunity for a divine encounter. Necessary provisions have been made for individuals wishing to attend. Free transit will be available for Seraphs and non-Seraphs across the country, and believers in the diaspora will be able to stream the power-packed programme on the church’s social media pages.

“Starting from Wednesday, 14th August 2024, NODE 6.0 will commence with prayers, seminars, and impactful sessions. The grand finale on Friday, 16th August, will run from 6 pm until dawn, featuring the youth hour.

“It may interest you to know that this year’s programme has been fully arranged to accommodate no fewer than 300,000 worshippers at The New Seraph Prayer City, located at Kilometre 60, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, by Sapade Overhead Bridge, Ode Remo, Ogun State.”

Yomi-Sholoye also encouraged Christians to engage in politics so their voices could be heard. She opined that there is nothing wrong with being part of the country’s decision-making processes.
