Tuddy Warebayigha, a police inspector in Bayelsa has been arrested for allegedly shooting his wife, Charity, over a misunderstanding.
This was confirmed by Asinim Butswat, police spokesperson in the state, in a statement on Friday, adding that the suspect has been arrested and detained at the state criminal investigation department.
The suspect reportedly trailed his late wife to the farm at Sampou community in Kolokuma/Opokuma local government area of the state, where he shot her.
“On 24/02/2020 at about 1350 hours, Inspector Tuddy Warebayigha, serving at Kaima Police Division, Bayelsa State shot his wife, Mrs. Charity Francis Tuddy on her way to the farm at Sampou, Kolokuma/ Opukuma local government area, over a marital misunderstanding, ” the statement read.

“The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital, where she was confirmed dead.
“The suspect was arrested and detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.”
He added that if found culpable, the inspector will be dismissed from the force and charged to court.
