Police Confirm Abduction Of Popular Business Mogul In Kogi

The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of a prominent businesswoman in Lokoja, Mrs. Ugochukwu Okpala.

It was gathered that Okpala, who is the owner of the Seat of Wisdom Supermarket, was kidnapped on Friday evening shortly after closing for the day’s business.

It was gathered that the victim was kidnapped right in front of her supermarket along Gadumo-Ganaja road, Lokoja, Kogi State.

Confirming the incident on Saturday, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), William Aya, while saying that the police was informed that just as Okpala closed for the day and was about to enter her car, she was accosted, pushed, into their car and driven to an unknown destination.

The police spokesperson also noted that the kidnappers abandoned Okpalas car and drove off in their car.

According to Aya, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Eboka, has mobilized officers in collaboration with other sisters security agencies to secure the release of the kidnapped victim.

“We got the information about the kidnap and the Commissioner of police has activated all security architecture to ensure that the lady is freed without hurt while the culprits would be apprehended and brought to justice,” he said.
