Police in Kano State have arrested two notorious kidnappers who have been terrorizing motorists along Kano-Kaduna roads.

Spokesman of the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa stated this in a press statement.

He said the arrest was made in two different operations led by SP Shehu Dahiru.

“A team of policemen led by SP Shehu Dahiru while on intelligence-led patrol arrested 25-year-old Adamu Shehu of Sabon Gari Safara via Kwanar Dangora in Kiru LGA.

“The suspect admitted coordinating a series of kidnapping operations both in Falgore forest and Dansoshiya forest,” he said.

Kiyawa explained that the suspect was responsible for the gruesome killing of a volunteer vigilante member, Ibrahim Shu’aibu after he raped his wife in early 2020.

He added that the team has also succeeded in arresting 26-year-old Shuaibu Isah while on a follow-up intelligence report across Falgore area.

He said the suspect confessed to having been involved in a series of kidnappings within Kano, Kaduna, and Nassarawa States, including the kidnapping of one Asmau Alh Sule of Falgore town, Doguwa LGA Kano State, in August 2021.

He said the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Police Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko has ordered for discreet investigation to track and arrest the remaining suspects.

He said the suspects will be charged to court upon the completion of investigation.
