Police Arrest Fake Medical Doctor Who Defrauded, Impregnated Four In Niger

A 24-year-old man identified as Clement Joseph of Koropka, Chanchaga, suburb of Minna have been arrested by the Niger State Police Command for allegedly posing as a medical doctor and impregnating four females in the state.

Joseph was arrested on Saturday, 6th of November, 2022 based on a tip-off to the police.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, made this known in Minna.

He said the suspect was arrested for three offences including false impersonation, fraud and causing ab#rtion.

He explained that aside impersonation, he deceitfully collected money from an unsuspecting member of the public to the tune of N280,000 under the false pretense of a fake online business called ZUGA COINS INT’L business.

He said, “the suspect was arrested for false personation having paraded himself as a medical doctor and deceitfully collected a sum amount of money from an unsuspecting member of the public to the tune of two hundred and eighty thousand naira under the false pretense of a fake online business called ZUGA COINS INT’L business”.

Abiodun explained that upon further questioning, the suspect confessed to have had unlawful carnal knowledge of four other female victims and impregnated one of them.

According to him, “the suspect conspired with one Aliyu presently at large and abo#ted a pregnancy of one other victim”.

The case is currently under investigation.
