One of the Chibok girls that were rescued by the Federal Government from Boko Haram captivity has asked the government not to forget the other girls who are still in captivity.

The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs organized a Prayer Meeting on Friday, April 14 to ask for God’s help, as the government honored the 9th Anniversary of the abduction of 276 girls from Federal Government Girls College, Chibok, Borno State.

Salomi Pogu(pictured below), the 15th in the list of abducted girls, who was rescued in 2018, appreciated the Federal Government and the Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen but begged the Federal Government to rescue the remaining 96 girls.

She said; “We appreciate what you all have done in our lives. I cannot say anything else except to say thank you. Please let’s do more, let’s not forget about these children.”

Tallen, in her message, said out of the 276 abducted on April 14, 2014, 57 had the opportunity to escape, while 219 of the girls were taken away.

She said 122 of the girls have so far been rescued with 108 of them under the current administration while 97 are still in captivity.

She assured that efforts were still on to rescue those still in captivity, saying “All hope is not lost”.

Tallen, said she has visited the parents of the girls in Chibok twice to support them with financial and material assistance.

The Minister asked everyone to keep hope alive that the remaining girls will be released.
