Pastor David Ibiyeomie has reacted to claims by American preacher Creflo Dollar about tithe.

Ibiyeomie, who is the pastor incharge of Salvation Ministries, Port Harcourt said he will continue to pay tithe till he dies because he knows the importance.

Recall that Creflo Dollar had admitted that he has been preaching the wrong gospel when it comes to tithes, stressing that tithing is Old Testament teaching and no longer relevant for New Testament believers.

Dollar who stated this during one of his Sunday sermons titled, “The Great Misunderstanding” cited Romans 6: 14 in the Holy Bible to buttress how Christians now live under grace and not the laws of the Old Testament.

“Romans 6: 14: For sin shall not have dominion over you; for ye are not under the law, but under the grace” You are under grace not under laws,” he noted.

But Ibiyeomie, in a sermon, said some preachers quoted the Bible upside down in certain issues, saying that “Please read Bible for yourself. Can somebody tell me not to pay tithe? I’ll be foolish.

“I’ve read Bible for myself so nobody can preach to me. Me, I saw it from the Bible so somebody cannot tell me ‘don’t pay tithe.’

“I don’t need you to preach to me, I’ll pay tithe till I die. Please read Bible, Pastor can go astray. Any Gospel outside the one Jesus has preached is nonsense gospel. Any gospel not improving somebody, watch it,” he said.
