A Magistrate Court in Ilorin, Kwara State, remanded a pastor by the name of Makanjuola Olabisi for allegedly having carnal knowledge of three biological sisters in the state capital.

According to a police investigation, sometime in 2018, the pastor violated the sisters after persuading them to join his church, Revolutionary Insight Church, which is located at Agba Dam in Ilorin.

It was gathered that Olabisi invited the eldest sister for prayers after she declined his proposal to be his lover. He allegedly raped her and her two siblings at different times.

It read;

“When the complainants (victims) discovered that the pastor has been taking sexual advantage of them, they stopped attending the church and the development made the pastor to threaten that calamity would befall them.”

The court refused to take the plea of the accused person, after the police prosecutor, Inspector Matthew Ologbonsaye, informed the court of a motion exparte attached to the charges, urging it to remand the pastor pending the outcome of the legal advice from the state Director of Public Prosecution in the state Ministry of Justice.

Magistrate Fatimah Salihu who noted that the court lacks jurisdiction to take the pastor’s plea, ordered that he be taken to the Federal Correctional Facility, Ilorin, pending the receipt of advice from the DPP.

The case was adjourned till September 14, 2022 for further mention in court.
