A commercial bus carrying 14 passengers and a driver was gutted by fire in the early hours of Saturday, Sept. 30, on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The Toyota Hiace, with number plate AFN117YL, took off from the Ijora motor park in Lagos and was headed to Ilorin when one of the tyres burst.
The bus immediately caught fire as it came to a stop in the middle of the road.
Thankfully, no passenger was burnt in the inferno though some sustained cuts and bruises while fleeing the burning bus.
All the passengers’ belongings got burnt in the fire. Some lost their phones, footwear, and important documents in the fire.
