Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has made a promise to the people of the state.
He vowed to immortalize his late boss, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who died a few days ago.
Aiyedatiwa, who said a befitting state burial would be given to the former governor, stated that all the projects initiated by Akeredolu that were yet to be completed will be finished.
The governor, who stated this in his New Year broadcast to the people of the state, maintained that as the state gears towards governorship polls, the state’s political space would be dominated by ideas and attacks.
Aiyedatiwa warned politicians against acts capable of causing unrest in the state ahead of the party primaries and governorship polls.
According to him, no form of violence would be tolerated, and he appealed to the political actors to play by the rules of the game.
“As we are all aware, this is also the year for our governorship election. Expectedly, political activities will gain prominence as we march towards the election.
“However, let me implore all political parties, aspirants, and their followers to eschew violent conduct that can threaten the peace and tranquillity of our state and ensure that they strictly follow the guidelines issued by the electoral umpire.”
