Grandmother Christiana Kehinde, 52, has caused her grandson to suffer terrible wounds.

The woman was detained when her eight-year-old granddaughter’s fingers were burned for consuming soup against her will.

By the time the neighbors called the police to report the occurrence, the fingers had already started to rot.

According to neighbors, Mrs. Kehinde enjoyed mistreating her grandchild.

The incident happened at No. 13 Abejoye Odojoka, Ondo town.

It was gathered that the suspect had dipped the girl’s hand inside hot water and refused to take her to the hospital for treatment.

Kehinde, who spoke to journalists at the Ondo State Police Headquarters, said she dipped the girl’s hands inside hot water to prevent her from further eating her soup without her consent.

Spokesman for the Ondo State Police Command, SP Fumilayo Odunlami, said investigation had commenced into the incident.

She said the victim has been referred to Trauma center in Ondo town for plastic surgery, adding that the suspect would soon be charged to court.
