Okada Rider, Passenger Crushed To Death In Ogun

A commercial motorcyclist and his passenger were on Sunday crushed to death in Ogun State.

It was gathered that the motorcyclist was riding against traffic when a truck crushed him and his passenger.

The accident, GIOTV learned, occurred around 10 am at Car Park C, Mowe axis of the Lagos-Ibadan highway, Ogun State.

The road crash involved the motorcycle, with registration number, PKA 147 VF, and an unregistered Mack truck.

Confirming the incident, the spokesman of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said, “the motorcyclist rode against traffic (route violation) from Redeemed to Mowe before it ran into the Mark truck which was on its legitimate lane heading towards Interchange.”

“The truck has been taken to Redeemed Police Station by TRACE and FRSC officials, while the 2 dead victims have been taken to Fakoya Mortuary, Sagamu,” he said.

Commiserating with the family of the deceased, the traffic agency appealed to “motorists and motorcyclists to avoid driving in a direction prohibited by traffic (One-Way).”
