The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the two presidential candidates of opposition political parties, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, of making “incendiary” statements to instigate the Nigerian public.

In a post on X platform, Atiku had said there was hunger in the land as basic commodities, including bread, were becoming out of reach for average Nigerians.

The APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, on Tuesday during an interview with Channels TV urged the duo to suggest ideas to Nigerian president, Bola Tinubu and not just condemn what the government was doing to address economic hardship in the country.

He said, “Opposition politics is not necessarily about condemning. These individuals, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, touted some of the economic policies this government is running with to be at the core of their economic agenda. So what has happened?

“So it is not enough to just condemn, these leaders should be able to, assuming they have the silver bullets this government is not deploying, they point it out.’

“It is not enough for Atiku Abubakar to bandy words. I expect a man who thinks deeply as he claims about governance, economy, and other aspects of our natural life to offer ideas, concrete suggestions,” he added.

SaharaReporters on Tuesday reported that Nigerians including supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on X (formerly Twitter) berated the President Bola Tinubu-led government over the inflation and hardship in the country.

The commentators had also lambasted the APC for accusing opposition political parties of instigating mass protests to undermine the government.

The APC in a statement by Morka, had accused opposition political parties in the country of being desperate to portray its administration as underperforming by resorting to instigating Nigerian youths to protest in the streets of some major cities across the country.

The ruling party had alleged that the protest in Minna, Niger State and Kano, Kano State on Monday over high cost of living was orchestrated by opposition political parties to present threat to public peace and national security.
