Former African heads of states will be at the Olusegun Obasanjo presidential library international conference center in Abeokuta, Ogun state, for the 83rd birthday of former Nigerian president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
The former Nigerian leader will be 83years on Thursday, March 5, and a series of activities have been organized by the Centre for Human Security and Dialogue (CHSD), including keynote addresses by leaders in the continent At a press conference to announce the events preceding the day of the celebration, Professor Peter Okebukola, the director of CHSD also announced that there would be a presentation of the book ‘The Asian Aspiration’ which was authored by Greg Mills, Obasanjo, and others.
Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, a former Liberian president; Ernest Bai Koroma, the former Sierra Leonean leader, and Hailemariam Desalegn, a former Ethiopian prime minister are the former African leaders expected to grace the occasion.
“The roundtable will bring together former Heads of State and government in Africa, especially from the ECOWAS sub-region, heads/representatives of United Nations agencies, Ambassadors of foreign missions to Nigeria, leaders from the public and private sector, the media, development experts, and other stakeholders.
“Ambassador of China to Nigeria and the Head of Chancery of the High Commission of India to Nigeria will give perspectives of their countries on the Asian aspiration and lessons for Africa,” Professor Okebukola added.
