Nigerian Man Flees After Allegedly K!ll!ng Brother-In-Law For Marrying Another Wife

A man, identified as Sunday Mathew, is currently on the run after he allegedly killed his sister’s husband, Onwe Uchenna for marrying a second wife, witnesses told SaharaReporters.

 

The incident occurred on October 12 in Ugboenyim Ishieke village, Ebonyi state.

According to eyewitnesses, Mathew stabbed his sister’s husband to death for marrying another wife.

“He is my brother, he had an issue with his wife and the wife’s brother came in the night and stabbed him to death. The issue is that he married a second wife,” a brother of the deceased told SaharaReporters.

Another relative of the deceased added, “The deceased had an issue with his wife, he married a second wife so that became an issue. So the first wife invited her family to come for peace settling, during the peace settling an issue aroused between my brother and the wife’s brother, Sunday Mathew.

“Mathew then angrily left the scene, nobody knew what he had in mind, it was in the midnight around 2:24am that we heard someone shouting, pronouncing Mathew’s name, we had to come outside, as we came outside, we saw him lying down in the pool of blood.

 

SaharaReporters gathered that while Mathew is on the run, the sister has been arrested and she is currently in police custody.

The police have yet to react to the incident.
