Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala, has said Nigeria is “the best country in the world,” stressing that she always wants to give her best whenever she is in the national team jersey.
The 28-year-old stated this in a post-match interview after the Super Falcon’s 3-2 victory over World Cup co-hosts, Australia on Thursday.
It was recalled that Oshoala came off the bench to score Nigeria’s third goal and in the process made history as the first African player to score at three different editions of the tournament.
She scored her first World Cup goal in Nigeria’s 3-3 draw with Sweden in 2015, and her second in the 2-0 victory over South Korea at the 2019 World Cup in France.
Reacting to the feat, the Barcelona Femení said passion is her driving force.
“Each tournament I go, I wanna make sure I did everything; fight for my teammates, and fight for this badge. This [Nigeria] is the best county in the world,” Oshoala said.
