NFF Pays Tribute To Samuel Okwaraji Who Died On August-12-1989 During A Match At The National Stadium

The Nigeria football federation (NFF) has paid tribute to a late professional footballer, Samuel Okwaraji who slumped and died in a 1990 World Cup qualifier game at the Lagos National stadium 1989.

The former Nigeria midfielder died at the age of 25 due to congestive heart failure.

NFF wrote on an official verified Twitter handle;  “It’s 12th August again, and we remember the Patriotic Samuel Sochukwuma Okwaraji who died on this day in 1989. Forever in our hearts ”
