The National Examination Council, NECO, has released the June/July 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination, SSCE, results, with 61.60% of students scoring five credits and above in English Language and Mathematics.
The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi made the announcement at NECO headquarters while briefing Journalists in Minna, Niger State.
Prof.Wushishi disclosed that a total of 1,205,888 students registered for the examination. of that number, 1,196,985 sat for the exams, representing 616,398 males and 580,587 females.
When compared to the results of the 2022 SSCE of 60.74%, the 2023 SSCE showed a decrease of 0.86% in the number of candidates who scored five credits and above in the two subjects.
Recall that in 2021, 71.64% obtained five credits in the two major subjects.
