Muslim Council Sacks Chief Imam In Ondo

The Ikare Muslim Council has confirmed the sack of Sheikh Abubakar Muhammed Abbas, the Chief Imam of Ikare Mosque, in a letter dated October 10, 2022.

The decision was reached at a meeting held on October 9, 2022.

In the letter signed by the council’s chairman, Adewale Jimoh Abayomi and the secretary, Alhaji R. Ayeigbusi, it was revealed that the Okukare of Ikare, Oba Saliu Akadiri Momoh IV, approved the decision.

GIOTV however reported that the League of Imams and Alfas in the state has rejected the sack of Sheikh Abbas.

The group said its stand was in line with the decision and resolution of the Ikare Muslim Community crisis by the Ondo State Government.
