Many people have been feared dead following an attack launched by suspected Fulani herdsmen in four villages in Ebonyi State.
The affected villages are Umuhuali, Nkalaha, Obeagu, Nkalagu, and Amazu in the Ishielu Local Government Area of the southeast state.
Eyewitnesses told Channels Television that the gunmen were shooting sporadically, killing at least 15 people in different areas of the communities. They equally set ablaze motorcycles belonging to residents of the affected communities.
Governor David Umahi who has reportedly visited the affected communities, condemned the attack and also assured the villagers that government will do all within its powers to bring the perpetrators to justice.
