Man Strangles His Wife In Her Sleep While Their Child Watched In Horror

A man, identified as Gbenro, has been accused of strangling his wife, Wayesola, as she slept.

Their daughter, Fayoke, who witnessed the incident, narrated how her father killed her mother.

The incident was said to have happened in the early hours of the morning at Salvation Army Street, Odoj?mu, Ondo, Akure.

Fayoke said she saw her father strangling her mother when she got up to ease herself but couldn’t do anything because her father threatened to kill her, The Nation reports.

It was Fayoke’s cry of horror that attracted neighbours, who arrived to find Wayesola had died.

Neighbours immediately locked the man indoors to stop him from escaping, then they called the deceased’s brother.

Ondo Police spokesperson, ASP Tee- Leo Ikoro, said the matter has been transferred to the state CID for further investigation.
